Is The Reading Nest a library?
The Reading Nest is a free book service that travels to rural and underserved areas to give away books you can keep forever. There are no library cards or due dates — just stories shared freely with anyone who wants them.
Our goal is to make reading accessible to everyone, especially families who may not have a library nearby. We encourage everyone to support and visit their local public libraries, which offer incredible programs, online resources, and lending services.
If you live in Polk County, be sure to check out these amazing libraries:
- Monmouth Public Library
- Independence Public Library
- Dallas Public Library
- West Salem Branch Library
- Grand Ronde Tribal Library
We’re proud to complement their work, not replace it. Libraries build community, and we’re here to bring the joy of books to places they can’t always reach. Together, we make stories soar farther.
Do you only have kid’s books?
Nope! We have books of all kinds for all ages and reading levels, and we make an effort to stock books in multiple languages.
